I would like to share some photographs from my recent journey to Antarctica. It was a truly once in a lifetime experience, though I’d be happy to go back there any time. Maybe someone soon will want to have a wedding in Antarctica… oh those would be some of the most unique and stunning wedding photographs ever. I already envision the jaw dropping landscapes as the backgrounds and places which would be great to hold the ceremony.
I’ve traveled to quite a number of countries and places and none of them left me speechless. There, many times I’ve found myself just sitting and admiring the beauty of this place. I just have no words to describe it. YOU HAVE TO SEE IT FOR YOURSELF!!
All the wildlife was right there, with penguins walking around just a few feet away.
And I even had a chance to take a swim in the ocean twice during the trip (last picture of this set…)! It was extremely cold, but worth it. I would definitely do it again if I ever go back.
It wasn’t the easiest trip for me. I had a tooth infection that started a few days after we arrived there. On the ship we only had a doctor who didn’t know that much about dentistry. I was on codeine tablets and getting morphine and penicillin shots for the infection and excruciating pain.
That didn’t stop me from all the fun and activities! Once we were back to Ushuaia late in the evening, I was taken to the dentist who performed a root canal($290 – including emergency fee, holiday fee, taxi, translator).
It took me 2 days to narrow 370 images from this trip to my favorite 75. Enjoy and I hope these photographs will persuade you to put Antarctica on your bucket list
Flying penguin… These babies can give dolphins a run for the money at a jumping competition
Penguins are amazingly fast underwater, but they can barely walk on the ground, constantly falling down - somewhat fun to watch
When Antarctic icebergs fall into the water they can create a ripple that can be dangerous to ships. I’ve seen a somewhat small one there, though it was loud which scared some people
It’s a fish? It’s a bird? It’s a flying penguin!
I love traveling! Whether it’s destination weddings or just taking photos for myself.
