I recently photographed a great couple at the Old Mill Wedding Hall in Toronto. I’ve done so many weddings at this popular Toronto wedding venue, sometimes it almost feels like home and the priest at the chapel is always very funny!
For the past 2 years I’ve been trying to force myself to blog a bit more about all my local and destination weddings, but it is very hard to do right now due to all the weddings, new bookings and engagement sessions. I don’t quite understand how some do it weekly. A few local Toronto wedding photographers I talked said they are not busy and at about 10 weddings per year it is not hard for them to post random posts. With local weddings+destination weddings+engagements, baby, family and maternity sessions I am at about 80 events in a year. When you add dozens upon dozens of hours of editing per each booking and I am at the point where I am working between 80-90 hours a week, with no days off for 2-3 months at a time and even at the off season in the winter I manage to clock at least 45 hours. I still love it and wouldn’t change it ( unless National Geographic would want to hire me full time ;).
This wedding, including the ceremony and reception took place at the Old Mill Hall. It is a one-stop venue and perhaps the reason many couples choose it. The negative side of it is how sometimes the grounds get too busy with nearly a dozens of wedding parties who are all taking pictures at about the same time. We were lucky that it wasn’t the case this time and we mostly had all the grounds to ourselves. This is my 9th Korean wedding, but I shot at the Old Mill Inn dozens of times before over the last years. I have to say that the favorite part of a Korea wedding is probably the chestnuts throwing ritual-symbol of children. It is always very fun to watch not only for wedding photographers, but also for all the guests who are cheering and laughing.
