India – a land of contrast, thousands of temples and colors. A country that can shock even experienced travelers. The farther away you go from the touristy spots, the better and more unique your experience gets. Weddings in India are very big, loud and colorful. It was such a pleasure being part of one of them.
It would’ve been great if they had iced tea!! It’s impossible to find Nestea or any other Iced tea anywhere and I’ve searched a lot. I was really surprised as cold flavored teas are popular in most of Asia.
My fascination with India began when I was little and my mom used to travel there for work. Once back, she would bring a lot of sweets, candles and various souvenirs with pictures or engravings of elephants, Buddhas and tigers. The Soviet Union TV would show Bollywood movies every Sunday and was shocked how people would just dance in the middle of the street so often. I wanted to experience it for myself. I dreamed about going there and in 2nd grade even attempted to run away from home with a friend. We went as far as our local park where we camped until late evening before returning home.
Although my perception of India changed over the years, I still wanted to go. About 20 years later I finally was able to visit this country. I wish I had time to post all 500 images that I have, but how about just a few from my trip. A lot of photographs were taken in the Norther Part, in small towns and villages.
The colors and culture – all make India one of the most unique countries on this planet. It has everything from beautiful beaches to forests and deserts with sand dunes. People, however, is what it differentiates India from many other countries. They have so much character and photograph so beautifully! Weddings there are long and huge in numbers.
