Excited to show another South East Asian wedding. This multi-day Indian wedding was photographed in Atlanta, Georgia. Every year I photograph a lot of Sikh, Hindu and Ismaili South Asian weddings all over the World along with so many other cultures and I am grateful to all the couples to entrust their special day in my hands.
This couple lives in Atlanta, GA, and before the wedding they flew here for their engagement session. Some months later I was happy to be in their home town to document the Special Day.
1st and last day of the wedding took place at the charming Westin Atlanta Perimeter North hotel. The surround area is very beautiful and a lot of creative images you see here were taken on the grounds of the hotel.  First day of the wedding started with a civil ceremony outside Westin Atlanta North, with some creative photographs, including bridal party and family photos. Later in the day there was a mendhi event. Henna designs are believed to adorn and protect those who have them.
On the 2nd day there was a  Pithi and Sangeet ceremonies along with one of my most favorite things to photograph – egging of the groom by the groomsmen.
Last day started with the getting ready of the bride along with some creative photographs nearby. Which was followed by Nikkah, Khoba Khobi and other rituals.  In the evening we were all back to the Westin Hotel for the reception.
Here are about 130 images from this 3-day wedding (1200 images were taken in total) so there’s so much more to show, including details and other ceremonies, but I tried to pick the most interesting examples which show the beauty, culture, traditions and atmosphere of Ismaili weddings.
During the evening reception one of the guests asked me, what I think the job of a wedding photographer is, to which I replied, “To capture all the details and make bride and groom, along with everything else, look gorgeous”.  🙂

I loooved the saree. It was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen in all my years. Apparently a lot of time was spent searching for this particular material and designs.

Nikkah along with a few other traditions. Last 2 pictures picture the shoe game where they were stolen for ransom 🙂
