I would like to share a few quick photographs from my recent journey to Antarctica. It was a truly once in a lifetime experience, though I’d be happy to go back there any time. Maybe someone soon will want to have a wedding in Antarctica… oh those would be some of the most unique and stunning wedding photographs ever. I already envision the jaw dropping landscapes as the backgrounds and places which would be great to hold the ceremony.
I’ve traveled to quite a number of countries and places and none of them left me speechless. There, many times I’ve found myself just sitting and admiring the beauty of this place. I just have no words to describe it. YOU HAVE TO SEE IT FOR YOURSELF!!
All the wildlife was right there, with penguins walking around just a few feet away.
And I even had a chance to take a swim in the ocean twice during the trip (last picture of this set…)! It was extremely cold, but worth it. I would definitely do it again if I ever go back.
It wasn’t the easiest trip for me. I had a tooth infection that started a few days after we arrived there. On the ship we only had a doctor who didn’t know that much about dentistry. I was on codeine tablets and getting morphine and penicillin shots for the infection and excruciating pain.
That didn’t stop me from all the fun and activities! Once we were back to Ushuaia late in the evening, I was taken to the dentist who performed a root canal($290 – including emergency fee, holiday fee, taxi, translator).

jumping penguin in antarctica

penguin roads and highways in Antarctica. They make their own roads in order to walk better in the snow and then use them. They still fall a lot even when walking on a well made “highway”. Once in a while someone would just change their mind and would want to go back. If there are more penguins behind, it would walk over the snow to another road. Overall, I found this system to be pretty advanced for a bird.

rare albino penguin. I was happy I got to see one.

Isn’t it the cutest thing you’ve seen today? They are adorable. So fun to watch

Flying penguin… These babies can give dolphins a run for the money at a jumping competition

Cute penguin

Penguins are amazingly fast underwater, but they can barely walk on the ground, constantly falling down – somewhat fun to watch
