Amazing Moon Palace Golf and Spa resort Sikh Indian wedding in Cancun, Mexico.
I photographed a lot of destination weddings in the last 12 months, including quite a few South Asian weddings in USA, Canada, Mexico and few other places.
Moon Palace resort is always a pleasure to visit as food, hotel amenities and service is one of the best and perhaps that’s why it is one of the most popular 5-star resorts to get married at in Cancun, Mexico. The multi-day wedding was smoothly executed by the team from Amor Events, located in Edmonton, Alberta who worked non stop to plan all the cultural and religious ceremonies, multiple receptions, dinners, etc
While most of these wedding pictures were taken around the charming grounds at Moon Palace, we also drove to a nearby fishing village and took a few more “trash the dress/bridal” style of photos there on the last day.
It was an absolute pleasure to be there for this beautiful couple and I hope their wedding photographs will bring them back to this day(s) year after year.
For engaged couples considering Moon Palace Golf and Spa resort for their wedding, please get in touch for any information. I’ve documented 4 traditional Catholic as well as South Asian Sikh and Hindu Indian destination weddings at this beautiful resort and can share some insight and perhaps even more images from other weddings. There are other all-inclusive properties in Riviera Maya and Cancun that are also somewhat popular, but there’s a reason Palace resorts stand out among many. Just like there’s a reason most couples who tie the knot here, opt-in for experienced destination wedding photographers such as myself to capture all the beauty of their once in a lifetime celebration. And I know you can see the difference and it is why you are on this blog 😉 See 100s of thank you emails(reviews) on the blog or website from past clients, including their parents!

Loved the personalized water bottles and candies 🙂

henna/mendhi along with welcome speeches and dancing.

What a beautiful sari!

fun evening reception outside

I have my personal love and hate for the sparklers. They help in creating really cool photos, but extremely dangerous. If you haven’t seen hair or dresses getting caught on fire then you haven’t been to enough weddings 🙂 I’ve been burned by them more times than I can count. They do produce some of the coolest shots though.

Being an artist, I really appreciate the awesome work the mehndi/henna artists create. This bride hid both of their initials on one of the palms for the groom to find. Being close, I tried to find it and couldn’t 🙂

I am updating the info on this image as I was receiving a lot of emails from wedding photographers asking how I achieved this effect in photoshop. It wasn’t done in photoshop, but by using a tilt/shift lens 🙂

Behind the couple you see a lot of hotels and resorts in the main strip of Cancun. Fortunately, Moon Palace is located away from them, so you get a bit of tranquility with all the lush gardens, golf course and acres of land.

This beautiful image was captured just when the sun hid behind the horizon when we were walking to the reception. The skies and the clouds had an amazing orange/red glow and I rushed to capture it.
I often get asked a lot to recommend a few luxury 5-star resorts for a wedding and aside from Moon Palace, here are few that have a wow factor: Royal Hideaway Playacar, Riviera Maya; Valentin Imperial Maya, Riviera Maya; Paradisus Cancun; JW Marriott Cancun Resort and Spa; NOW Resorts; Le Blanc Spa Resort, Cancun; Esperanza An Auberge Resort,Cabo

This was absolutely hilarious. In these images you see waiters are doing what I think is called ” Tequila Headshake”. Basically you drink a shot then they cover your face and shake your head violently for 3-5 seconds. It’s a bit painful, yet extremely entertaining to watch. Expressions on everyone’s faces are priceless! Every time I am in Mexico, I am always noticing how most resort staff seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. As I travel for destination weddings often to different countries, I have to say it’s something I don’t always see.
